At Tilson Realty Group, real estate is about more than closings, it's about the community we all call home. That's why we're proud to partner with Backpack Buddies of Georgia, a local nonprofit dedicated to making sure kids in Coweta County never have to face a weekend without enough to eat.
Backpack Buddies of Georgia is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides weekend food packages to economically disadvantaged students in the Coweta County school system. For many kids, school meals are the most reliable food they get all week — Backpack Buddies fills the gap on weekends and holidays, so hunger doesn't stand in the way of a good night's sleep, a strong start to Monday, or a fair shot at school.
A few times a year, our team heads to the Backpack Buddies warehouse to pack food bags, inviting clients to join us. It's become one of our favorite traditions: the people we've helped find homes coming together with us to help make sure local kids have full pantries at home, too. No sales pitch, no small talk required — just a couple hours of good, hands-on work that makes a real difference for families right here in Coweta County.
Julie also stays involved in several other community and charitable efforts. She mentors children through a group called Elevate Coweta, and serves as a banner sponsor for Race for Ellie and Friends, a race for children with special needs, as well as Lighthouse Special Education Center, the school that supports them.
