Fayette County's Halloween Festivals Are Spread Across Three Evenings This Year

This year, a Fayette County family doesn't have to pick one fall festival. Peachtree City's is Friday, October 23. Fayetteville's is Saturday, October 24. Tyrone and The Avenue Peachtree City share Friday, October 30, but Tyrone starts at 3 p.m. and The Avenue's main festival doesn't begin until 5:30. Only one stretch of that afternoon overlaps, and the run ends with a free ice cream night on November 5.

Below is the full run in order, with the details you need to plan each night.

Friday, October 23: Drake Field kicks it off with Hocus Pocus

The season opens Friday night at the Peachtree City Fall Festival and Movie Night at Drake Field, 155 Willowbend Road. Atlanta on the Cheap lists a costume parade, crafts, Touch a Truck, trunk-or-treat, and food. Admission is free. The outdoor movie is Hocus Pocus at 7 p.m. Bring chairs and blankets.

The posted end time depends on where you look. Atlanta on the Cheap gives the hours as 4 to 8 p.m. The Rotary Club listing says 4 to 10 p.m. and adds a live DJ, arts and crafts, and food vendors, with food for purchase. Both list a 4 p.m. start. If you want the movie, plan on being settled before 7. The event also appears on Peachtree City's 2026 recreation events calendar, which is the city's own record of the date.

Drake Field is mostly a kids' night. It works as a warm-up because the next evening moves to a different town, with a longer list of activities and a contest your dog can enter.

Saturday, October 24: Pumpkin Fest takes over the Courthouse Square

Twenty-four hours later, Fayetteville's Great Pumpkin Fest 2026 runs from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Historic Fayette County Courthouse and the Courthouse Square. Admission is free. Fayette News names Main Street Fayetteville as the organizer.

The city's event listing packs a lot into those four hours:

  • An inflatable corn maze and a pumpkin bounce-and-slide
  • Costume contests for kids and for dogs
  • A hayride to the Fire Department on Lee Street
  • Bobbing for donuts
  • A petting zoo
  • Pumpkin decorating hosted by Art of Landscaping
  • A live DJ, a vendor market, and trick-or-treating at the vendor booths

The dogs' costume contest matters for planning the rest of the run. The pet costume you buy for Saturday gets a second outing six days later at The Avenue, covered below.

If you'd like dinner nearby before or after, Santa Maria Latin Tapas, Seafood and Oyster Bar is also on Glynn Street South, at number 715. The Citizen covered its arrival in July. A follow-up in The Citizen on October 1 reported the restaurant fully open.

The weeknights in between belong to the library

The gap between the two Fridays is a good stretch for smaller, quieter plans. Fayette County Public Library has a run of seasonal programs on its events calendar. Each one requires registration.

Date Program Time Who it's for
Tue., Oct. 27 Black Cat Adult Paint 10:30 a.m. to noon Adults
Wed., Oct. 28 Spooky Storytime 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Ages birth to 5
Thu., Oct. 29 Backwards Book Club, "Spooky stories" 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Ages 5 to 12
Thu., Oct. 29 Murder Mystery Board Game Night 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Adults

On October 29, the Backwards Book Club and the Murder Mystery Board Game Night run in the same hour, one for ages 5 to 12 and one for adults.

Friday, October 30: Tyrone in the afternoon, The Avenue into the evening

The second Friday is where the different start times pay off. Tyrone starts early and The Avenue runs late, so you can do both on one day.

Tyrone first. The Town of Tyrone's Halloween Trunks, Tents & Treats is at Shamrock Park, 960 Senoia Road. Families will find decorated trunks and tents, treats, and a free seasonal photo opportunity. It happens rain or shine. The town's page gives two different times. The header says 3 to 6 p.m., and the event information block says 3 to 5 p.m. Arriving close to 3 covers you either way. Community groups, businesses, and vendors who want to host a trunk or tent can find a registration form on the same page.

Then The Avenue. The Trick or Treat & Fall Festival at The Avenue Peachtree City runs in stages. Pet owners should arrive first.

  1. 4 p.m.: Barktober starts and runs until 6. It has pet photography, treats from local vendors, fall bandannas, bacon-flavored bubbles, and a Pet Costume Contest. This is the dog costume's second contest of the season. Pure Hair Artistry holds its grand opening ribbon cutting at 4 as well, with $20 off hair services and 20% off hair products.
  2. 5:30 p.m.: Fall Fest begins. The lineup includes live music from Mostly 80s, superhero and demon hunter characters, a magician, face painting, balloon artists, a bounce house, kids' activities, and the NCAA Vendor Market.
  3. 5:30 to 7 p.m.: Kids trick-or-treat at participating stores while supplies last. At Boxee, kids can decorate their own photo strip.
  4. 8:30 p.m.: Fall Fest wraps up.

Barktober is where the two events overlap. It starts at 4, while Tyrone is still running under either posted end time, so families who want the pet contest and the Shamrock Park trunks will need to choose which one to catch at its start. If Tyrone ends at 5 and store trick-or-treating at The Avenue starts at 5:30, the trick-or-treat timing works on paper. If Tyrone runs until 6, trick-or-treat families may want to leave Shamrock Park a little early to reach The Avenue before treats run low.

This is the second time The Avenue has appeared on this calendar, and it won't be the last. The shopping center has changed more this fall than any other stop on the list.

After the costumes: The Avenue's next openings

Across Market Place Boulevard, J. Alexander's opened August 31 at 100 Market Place Boulevard, the former Smokey Bones location, according to The Trail, McIntosh High School's student news site. The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon cutting. It's a sit-down dinner option within walking distance of the October 30 festival.

Inside The Avenue, Aerie, the American Eagle sub-brand, is taking over the former Jos. A. Bank space. As of a September 17 report in The Trail, the store was expected later this year, but no grand opening date had been confirmed.

The opening with a firm date is Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, at 232 City Circle on Thursday, November 5. The City Menus reported on October 15 that this is the company's first scoop shop in South Metro Atlanta. Its other Georgia shops are in places like Decatur, Marietta, and Alpharetta. The local franchise partner is Missy Moon, who has run restaurants in the area for more than seven years. She told The City Menus that bringing Jeni's to Peachtree City, "a community that means so much to me, is incredibly special."

According to The City Menus, the grand opening runs from 6 to 10 p.m. that night with:

  • Free scoops all night
  • Jeni's swag for the first 50 people in line
  • Free ice cream for a year for five winners, entered by signing up for the Jeni's rewards app and scanning it at the event

The opening menu includes the holiday flavors, among them White Chocolate Peppermint, Boozy Eggnog, and a new Sticky Toffee Pudding.

November 5 is also a Food Truck Thursday on Peachtree City's 2026 recreation events calendar, so you could have dinner from a food truck and dessert at Jeni's on the same evening. That same week, the Friends of the Library sale fills the Fayette County Public Library meeting room. A members' preview runs Tuesday, November 3, from 4 to 7 p.m., and the public sale continues through Saturday, November 7.
